Charles River Barbell Programs

The events of weightlifting, or lifts, test virtually all of the muscles in an athlete’s body. And because the lifts are performed more widely than any other strength and power testing events in the world with standardized rules, with no assistive equipment, the World and Olympic Champions in the sport of Weightlifting have earned the right to the title of the strongest men and women in the world.” Charles River CrossFit will help you to learn and progress in Weightlifting and powerlifting!
Barbell Class – This is designed for those who are learning, want to learn, or are simply looking for improvement in both the Snatch and Clean and Jerk. This isn’t necessarily expected to be for competition.
Barbell Club – This is our competitive weightlifting team. The program is designed around competition and we expect to attend a minimum of 3 local or higher competitions per year as a group. If you are looking to take things to the next level, this is your club! Charles River Barbell is Local Weightlifting Club #2041.
Powerlifting Club – Our budding powerlifting program made its debut in 2016. Powerlifting consists of the Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift. These 3 lifts test the maximum strength of the athlete’s entire body. Powerlifting tests absolute strength threshold without the limitations of the balance, coordination, and speed of Olympic Weightlifting.
